Rainbow Forest tallis

Created for a client whose Hebrew name means bird, this tallis is a colorful meditation on a forest filled with birdsong. The corner squares and atarah are hand dyed with mulberries gathered locally on Nipmuc land, and ecoprinted with aster, wild grape, and black beans.

The atarah bears the phrase “Etz Chayim Hi L’Machazikim Bah V’Tomkheha Me’ushar”. From the book of Proverbs, this line compares the Torah to a Tree of Life, reminding us that all who cling to her will be blessed.

The cardinals and bluejays on this tallis have been lovingly designed by KA design partner Simcha Miller.
