Lake Michigan tallis

A meditation on cool mornings at Lake Michigan. This tallis bears calmly lapping waves, ferns, a forest skyline, and shooting stars, as well as petoskey stone. A distinctively patterned stone, petoskey washes up on the shores of Lake Michigan and is the result of fossilized coral.

The corner squares and atarah are hand dyed with nettle, rust, and black bean.

An adaptation from Shir HaShirim rests on the atarah of this tallis: “I sat beneath her shade, and her fruit was sweet to my palate”.
